Healing water flowed in those days from swampy places that were not far from the city of Cheb. This water was prescribed both for drinking purposes and for medicinal purposes.
Already in 1793, with the help of Dr. Bernard Adler, or rather with his sponsorship, a resort was founded. In 1865, the resort received not only the status of a city, but it was also attached to the railway network. Due to this, a large number of tourists began to come here who wanted to combine a pleasant holiday with a useful one. Later, famous personalities began to come here, due to which the resort town became popular and famous.
Its symbol is a small sculpture of a little boy Frantisek, who sits on a ball and holds a fish. The sculpture was created in the mid-twenties of the twentieth century. A copy of the statue stands at one of the water sources, and the original is located in the museum.
